SOLITARY HEPATIC CYSTS

Solitary hepatic cysts are quite common among benign liver tumors, polycystic liver disease is less frequent.

Most of them are asymptomatic and need no therapy; only cysts that are symptomatic for abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or jaundice require surgical treatment.

Laparoscopic fenestration currently is considered the optimal treatment for symptomatic solitary liver cysts.
